what a start...

A couple of friends of mine blog on a semi-regular basis.  Up until recently, I haven't really had the desire to join in this technological journaling.  I have decided, however, that some of my random experiences are too interesting not to share with anyone else who might stumble upon this site.

So here goes my first blog...

Last night, Tracey and I were on our way home from the store. Driving to our house from Lindale, you have to go down this dark, winding, country road.  So we're driving along talking about who knows what, when all of a sudden...BOOM...a tire blows...

I slow down and pull over to the side of the road but we're on a sharp curve and with my lack of experience changing tires, the last thing I want to do is get run over by some idiotic driver.  So I continue to roll on this blown out tire until we're on more of a straightaway.  When I get out of the truck, I see that the driver-side rear tire is not even on the wheel anymore.

I get into the process of changing the tire which for me requires consulting the owner's manual...I'm such a nerd...and after about an hour, our tire is changed and we continue the remaining two miles to the house.

During our time on this darkened road, several people stopped to ask if we were okay.  One man in particular mentioned how he dropped something on the road a few minutes before.  He drove off and another car approached and a couple of guys got out and said they ran over something that busted a leak in their fuel tank.  One of them walked down the road a ways and found the piece of metal that punctured the fuel tank as well as my tire.

So today, I get to price new tires for the truck...
